CHRIS CARNEY Chris Carney originally from Centerville, Iowa, moved to the East End of Long Island in his early teens. In 2000, Carney became certified as a personal trainer by The American Council on Exercise. He spent four years training at East Hampton Gym, before he started with private training. He is best known for his work with Soldier Ride a cross-country bike ride that he spearheaded to raise money and awareness for wounded soldiers through the Wounded Warrior Project. Carney is also an avid rugby player for the past 15 years, and has played on an international level with the United States team. In 2006 he opened a personal training gym, Railroad Avenue Fitness, with his wife Elisa Carney. ELISA CARNEY Elisa Carney is originally from Sag Harbor, New York. Carney received a Bachelor of the Arts in Sports Medicine from Radford University, VA and an Associates Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Suffolk Community College, NY. She then spent five years as a physical therapist at East End Physical Therapy in East Hampton. In 1998, Carney became certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She spent eight years at East Hampton and Sag Harbor Gym as a personal trainer before she opened Railroad Avenue Fitness, a personal training gym, with her husband Chris Carney. |
